WOWFreelancer.com verifies all employers that use our job board. Aside from our verification process, you also have to do your own due diligence:
- Take a look at your prospect employer’s online presence (website, social media, related articles, etc.)
- Do a quick research on their location (registered Google Maps address)
- Check their client reviews and employee feedback
- Research their business (scope and industry)
Before your work officially starts with an employer, they should also issue a freelancer contract as both the job seekers and client’s security that the freelancing project will commence. Read through and take time to understand the contract, specifically on provisions regarding payment and intellectual property.
Absolutely not. If a potential client wants you to do a test, that’s okay. But to do a trial, they need to at least pay you for the time or a project fee.
WOWFreelancer.com does not collect payments on behalf of any parties. Payments are discussed between the employers and the freelancers. But usually, employers use these payment portals so it’s best that you have an account from any or all of them.
Before you start any freelance work, it’s always best to negotiate a cycle of weekly or fortnightly payments. Getting a payment schedule in place will help ensure that you get paid on time.
If you’re not being paid what you agreed upon, it’s important to reach out to your employer and try to resolve the situation. If that doesn’t work, then you should report them to us.
